Welcome to Medrose Class

Medrose Class is a nurturing and vibrant mixed-age classroom for our Reception and Year 1 children. Here, play is at the heart of learning, allowing all children to explore, imagine and create while developing important early skills. Our Year 1 pupils continue to learn through play alongside more structured opportunities, and they thrive as role models to our younger Reception children. This mixed-age environment fosters confidence, kindness and a sense of responsibility, as every child is encouraged to learn from and with each other.

Learning in Medrose is guided by our enquiry-led curriculum, which responds to the interests and questions of the children. Our dedicated staff carefully tailor these enquiries to suit the needs of every learner, ensuring that each child is challenged, supported and celebrated in their learning journey. Along the way, children develop independence, resilience and curiosity – key skills from our Learning Toolkit that will help them thrive both now and in the future.

Above all, we want every child to feel that they truly belong. In Medrose, children know they are valued, listened to and are part of something bigger – 'The Tribe of Delabole.' This strong sense of community helps them feel secure and ready to take on new challenges, knowing they are supported by their friends, teachers and wider school family.
