In our final week of this half-term, Class 2 has learnt the beautiful poem ‘Bramble’ from the book ‘The Lost Words’. They have also been artists and applied their water colour skills to create beautiful pieces of artwork inspired by the poem.

The children have been learning to play the glockenspiels alongside the South African song they have been practising in Music,‘Hands, Feet, Heart’. They also spent time outside carefully weaving sticks into our giant loom to create a beautiful class collaborative piece of artwork

This week the children enjoyed finding out about the slate giant of Delabole! They bravely ventured into our garden to see if they could see his eyes poking up out of the ground!

We continued to develop our creative skills this week by collecting natural materials and using them to make pictures on top of tree stumps.

The children have been artists this week by focusing on developing their use of water colour paints further. They took inspiration from pebbles to create a spectrum of greys. They have also created a set of actions to help them retell the beautiful story of ‘The House’.

Class 4 were privileged to work with Olivia this week and become authors of belonging. They used old maps and tickets to be taken on a journey of creativity and create a unique story.

We were historians as we walked to Delabole Slate Quarry, stopping to admire & learn about the historical features of Pengelly. At the quarry, we discovered interesting facts about the history & Delabole as a village.
